Can we all just appreciate how lovely it is to send and receive letters?
The feel of the paper against your fingertips, the scrawled handwriting, the sound of ripping open the envelope and unfolding the page, your eyes going back and forth as they read the lines.
It's so magical, and I think the best thing about it is the fact that the writer could have just sent an email or a text, it's the effort and inconvenience that makes all the difference.
Receiving letters through the post is the best, it's the surprise and the way this amazing thing just drops through your door waiting for you. About a month ago I sent someone a CD through the post, with songs I burnt onto it to cheer them up, it felt really good to do something like that and make the extra effort instead of just texting saying, 'hope you're okay'. I think it's something I'd like to do more often.
Anyway, letters are great, love letters, sorry letters, thank you letters, (maybe not bills).
