They're here

Mum picked me up from work yesterday, and in the car home I asked in hopeful-yet-pessimistic tone "I don't suppose my shoes came today did they?" yet to my surprise and delight, Mum said "Yes, they did actually"

The shoes in question (pictured above) are my payday treat, a little "well done me" for getting my first job and now being able to buy silly things like five inch heels (but because the platforms are almost one a half inches high, the heel is actually only 3 and a half inches, making them almost possible to walk in) I haven't quite figured out what to wear them with, but I am sure that they will feature in an outfit post at some point.

From Boohoo.com, the shoes are called the Holly Suedette Block Heel Boot and you can look up the details here (as I write this they are currently out of stock, but Boohoo does update their stock regularly) they were quite a bargain at only £35 for such a striking purchase, but in an all-purpose black I hope that I will get my moneys worth... and even if I don't, they still feel rather fabulous for walking around the house in!

One of the things I cannot get over is how small my feet look when I look down at them in these shoes. As a size 6 (UK) my feet are average-verging-on-big but they look positively petite in these heels, especially with the minimal point on the toe, meaning my feet aren't extended at all.

Luckily my boyfriend is 5'11" meaning I can go out with him in these shoes, I can't decide if that's good or if it's just depressing that I'm still not taller than him, even in five inch heels. I realise that it makes me a poor excuse for a feminist when I still feel a girl should be shorter than her boyfriend, but I am just a sucker for tradition.

Soap & Glory

For Christmas I recieved two Soap & Glory gift sets, the first was a box from my brother that has a really cool print on it - I love it even though it's pink. As you may already know, I'm not the biggest pink fan - being a redhead, it doesn't suit my skin tone so I tend to skim over it when shopping.

The second was a mahoosive weekend bag packed with goodies from Alex's mum. I've not even tried all of the products yet but I've really liked the ones that I've used; including Sugar Crush, Sexy Mother Pucker and Heel Genius. The best thing about both these gifts is that all the products are full size, no piddly 100ml bottles of shower gel, even Hand Food came in a 125ml tube.

Within the weekend bag was a series of vouchers for me to use up until March for money off Soap & Glory items in Boots, so you can expect more reviews as I try out new products - everybody loves a bargain.

I don't know what I've been doing that has made me unable to post. Well, I've had shit loads of Chemistry homework (none of which I've understood) had to do another shoot for Photography and find a style model for English. Oh, and I have a Psychology test tomorrow that I should be revising for. Fuck.

Last Friday, I went shopping with my parents and came away with my winter boots for this season.

Office - £85

Studs are everywhere this season, from shoes to jackets to jumpers. These boots are a subtle nod to the trend, and I'll still be able to wear them even if studs are nowhere to be seen next season (in Britain, you can't keep winter boots just for the winter, I'll probably wear them frequently throughout the summer too) they also incorporate the 90's grunge trend that seems to be a running theme this autumn/winter.

Oh, and it's my birthday in a week. Presents accepted in the post guys.
